The 2019 summer sessions at LHMS offer young children a unique day camp experience where they can explore & enjoy the summer season's natural rhythm in a fun, nurturing and peaceful environment. There are many opportunities for children to engage in both self-directed activities & cooperative play. LHMS camp days are filled with nature studies, outdoor fun, gardening, building, singing and much more! In addition, each week features a variety of activities designed around a focused theme.
Camp runs from 8:45am – 12:15pm, Monday – Friday. Please send a packed lunch, children will eat together. We are a nut-aware environment. For children registered before April 23rd and/or multiple weeks will receive a discount per child (please see payment plan below). LHMS camp welcomes all children ages 3 -7. We look forward to seeing Long Hill Montessori School alumni!
Camp Session 1: June 10th – June 14th
Have your ever wondered what critters lie below your feet? Let’s get dirty and explore the world beneath. We’ll learn about underground animals. Some are nocturnal, some are diurnal, some are blind, and some are slimy!!
Camp Session 2 : June 17th - June 21st
WORLD OF HONEYBEES
Learn the importance of these little wonders in our ecosystem: bees pollinate one third of all of our food and travel far and wide for nectar to make tasty honey. Campers will learn that what is happening to bees is not funny. Some sting, some pollinate, some work all day and some just buzz. Save the Honeybees!!
Camp Session 3: June 24th - June 28th
What makes The Great Swamp, great? Let’s get wet and explore the wonderful world of pond animals. Learn about the magic of pond life! Frogs, ducks, geese, muskrats and more! Let’s take a dive and look inside. Some are microscopic, some hibernate, some slither, and some flutter.
Camp begins at 8:45am and ends at 12:15pm. Please send a lunch and drink each day. Children will bring their work home on Fridays.
